As a Wedding Filmmaker, I have had the privilege of capturing many special moments on film. But I have never experienced a wedding quite like Ashla and Layton’s. Just a week before the big day, Ashla’s mother passed away unexpectedly. And on the night of the rehearsal dinner, just hours before the ceremony was set to begin, Ashla’s grandfather also passed away.
Despite the heartache and grief they were both feeling, Ashla and Layton decided to go ahead with the wedding as planned. It was a difficult decision, but they felt that their loved ones would want them to celebrate their love and commitment to each other.
As I filmed the ceremony and reception, I couldn't help but be moved by the strength and resilience that Ashla and Layton displayed. They were able to find joy and beauty in the midst of such a difficult time, and their love for each other shone through in every moment.
One of the most poignant moments of the day came when Ashla mentioned to me her grandfather had given her strength and encouragement just hours before his passing, telling her that she was strong enough to get through the day and marry the love of her life. It was a powerful reminder of the enduring love and support that family and friends can provide, even in the face of great loss.
As I edited the wedding film, I was struck by how much love and emotion was packed into every frame. It was a truly special day, and one that I will never forget. I know that Ashla and Layton will always cherish the memories of their wedding, and the love and strength that carried them through such a difficult time.
